Lyrics and Translation for “Take me away” by 旅行团

I woke up sick today and have had quite a bit of work to do so I haven’t had time to update the lesson. I do have a nice and different kind of practice: a song. Back in college I had a big crush on a friend of mine, I would go over to her dorm on fridays and we would have some beers and sing karaoke, one of her favorite things to do. I learned a lot of classic karaoke songs and it was fun, but c-pop is not my favorite genre of music.

So, I ventured off to find something more akin to my tastes and I found 旅行团 (lǚxíngtuán) lit: Tour Group. but in English called The Life Journey. They’re sort of indie-pop and they mix English and Chinese lyrics. I think they’re pretty good. They are originally from 柳州 (Liǔzhōu) in southern China though their drummer is from 北京 (Běi jīng). Their debut album is called 来福胶泥 (lái fú jiāo ní) lit: come fortune clay. From that album I really like two songs “Take me away” and “罗马假日” (Luómǎ jiàrì) or Roman Holiday. I thought it would be cool to share my translation of “Take me away” (click for larger version).
